Creating Alternatives is a day program for adults 18 and older with a developmental disability.

With the support of dedicated staff, Creating Alternatives offers a variety of in-house and community-based activities aimed at promoting independence, enhancing skills, and fostering healthy peer relationships. Founded by Phyllis Santone, our mission is to help individuals with developmental disabilities integrate meaningfully into their community by providing opportunities to develop vocational, recreational, and life skills. Our in-house programs range from arts and cooking classes to fitness and literacy programs, among others.

Creating Alternatives is always looking to collaborate with new community partners who could benefit from clerical support provided by our dedicated participants or assistance with light packaging tasks. We also offer a range of volunteer opportunities.

Muslim Women of Vaughan is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to empowering the Muslim community and other minorities present in Vaughan, to allow for a more unified community, and to bridge the gaps between different generations and groups. Using our basic Islamic principles of human dignity, self-reliance, and social justice, Muslim Women of Vaughan has contributed to the community by hosting back-to-school giveaways, food drives, weekly senior sessions, free youth tutoring programs and much more. We are devoted to encouraging different minorities in Vaughan to become more involved in local events, boosting community spirit amongst Muslims and collaborating with other minority groups, without discrimination.

Reena is a non-profit organization which promotes dignity, indiviuality, independence, personal growth and community inclusion for people with developmental disabilities within a framework of Jewish culture and values.

The Vaughan-based Foundation is dedicated to improving human lives within our global and local communities.  It fundraises to help mentally and physically challenged children in the Commonwealth of Dominica and local health care resources in the Greater Toronto Area.  A Touch of Love and Hope Founation welcomes volunteers, in-kind and financial donations toward the continued success of its initiatives and beneficiaries.

Bridges of Love is a non-profit that has been advocating for seniors since 2019. We provide snow removal and grass cutting services to seniors experiencing physical or financial distress at no cost. We maintain personal relationships with our seniors providing them with the confidence of knowing that we are here to assist them during times of isolation or personal needs. Bridges of Love provides tablets to seniors to help them feel connected and simple exercise equipmemt to help with their physical fitness. It is our mission to keep seniors safe, healthy and happy.

Offering a stimulating, friendly environment for youth and adults with intellectual disabilities across York Region. Participants gain Socialization, Peer Support, Life Skills, Personal Growth, Confidence, Inclusion in the Community, Happy Memories. Hands on activites include cooking, money handling, computer use, research projects, transit practice, exercise, arts & crafts, gardening, community outings.

The Lotus Hope Foundation is a registered Canadian Charily #793579418-RR0001, created to inspire and empower women through education.  We aim to initiate sustainable change by providing resources, support and opportunities for women regardless of socio-economic status, race or age: to help improve their lives and build a better future.  Through our comprehensvie programs and initiatives, we strive to break the cycle of poverty, enhance quality of life and promote equitable opportunities for all women.
